When should I start planning the flowers for my wedding?
Most experts agree that you should pick a florist and start working with them 10-12 months before your wedding date. This gives you both ample time to create the ideas to give you the wedding flowers of your dreams (within your budget).
What should I expect when we first meet?
At your first meeting we will discuss the style, colors and setting of your wedding. Often times the season will have a very strong influence on the type of flowers you choose for your wedding (i.e., it’s very costly to get tulips in September). We recommend you bring color swatches from the bridesmaid dresses or linens. Pictures of the location are also helpful as well as any examples of flower arrangements or bouquets you particularly like. After our first meeting we will give you a detailed listing of the arrangements discussed with pricing. This allows you to have a good understanding of what each part will cost and what will fit within your budget. Once we have received 50% of our estimate as a deposit, we will save your wedding date exclusively for your big day.
Can I make any changes after our first meeting?
You can make any changes to the estimate up to 30 days before your wedding. At the 30 day checkpoint, we will have a final meeting to finalize all the details.
What should I expect at our 30 days prior meeting?
This meeting is very important since we finalize the details for your wedding. For example, we will need a final # of tables for the centerpieces, a list of names in your wedding party to label the boutonnieres, corsages and bouquets and a delivery and pickup time. (Most couples choose to rent the vases instead of purchasing them. This a great way to save some money! If you decide to rent the vases, we must arrange a pick-up time.) This is also your last opportunity to make any changes before the 30 day deadline.
When do I need to make my final payment?
We need to receive your final payment at least 24 hours before your wedding flowers are to be delivered.
What flowers will I need?
It is helpful to have reviewed our wedding flower checklist before you meet with us. This will help focus our conversation and help you stay within your budget. Remember, this list is just to help you remember everything you need. You might not need everything listed or you might choose to made addition or changes (ie: a small nosegay bouquet for your mother instead of a corsage).
